What can I learn in the Advanced Asphalt Paving trade?

Students in the Advanced Asphalt Paving trade have graduated from the IUOE heavy equipment operator and basic paving programs. Students must possess basic skills in the operation of heavy equipment, and a deep familiarity with the construction industry work environment in order to master the more intricate operations taught at the advanced level. Part of your training includes paving actual Job Corps centers. Because you can travel to various Job Corps locations during this training, you can have the opportunity to represent IUOE Job Corps so it is important that you possess the capability and desire to be an example to others.


How much money do Advanced Asphalt Pavers make?

Advanced Asphalt Pavers who start as apprentices can make as much as $12.50 per hour. Typically, you will receive a raise of $6.00 per hour when you complete your apprenticeship. Possessing advanced skills should increase your ability to begin at a higher starting salary. Your salary will be dependent on how skilled you become at Job Corps, your apprenticeship experience and where you decide to begin working.
