What can I learn in the Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic
trade?
You can be trained to be entry-level heavy construction equipment
mechanics. You can gain a variety of skills, including engine and
transmission repair, welding and cutting, working with electrical and
hydraulic systems, lubrication and equipment maintenance, pump and compressor
repair, safety, and deciphering equipment manuals. To better learn what you
need to know, mechanic students perform basic maintenance and repair of
equipment for the Job Corps heavy equipment operator programs. Training takes
place in the shop, on a training project and in the classroom. |
