CN Tower
CN Tower
Toronto’s CN Tower was built by Canadian National Railways in 1976 to be the world’s tallest tower and improve local television and radio transmissions. The resulting structure quickly became the biggest tourist destination in the city and an icon for all of Canada.
IUOE Local 793 members built the all-concrete tower with steel and wood forms which were lifted by hydraulic jacks.
