TRADESWOMEN BUILD NATIONS

The Tradeswomen Build Nations Conference is the largest annual gathering of tradeswomen in the world, bringing together thousands of tradeswomen from across the United States and Canada.  It’s a powerful celebration of sisterhood, solidarity, and opportunity in the unionized building trades. The event includes plenary sessions, workshops, panels, a milelong banner parade, and networking opportunities geared towards empowering tradeswomen and increasing skills and knowledge to help them succeed and be fulfilled in their careers. The conference features high-level speeches and participation from rank-and-file tradeswomen, national government officials, labor leaders, and industry executives.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Tradeswomen Build Nations Conference being held from October 9-11in Houston, Texas.

IUOE TRADESWOMEN COMMITTEE

Delegates to the 40th General Convention of the International Union of Operating Engineers unanimously passed Resoltuion No. 35 – Gender Equality in the Construction Industry. This established the IUOE Tradeswomen Committee which, at the direction of the General President, works in conjunction and coordination with existing organizations such as NABTU’s Tradeswomen Committee and the AFL-CIO Committee on Women Workers, to help develop and promote the interests of all tradeswomen who are currently working, or who wish to begin a career, as an IUOE apprentice and journeyperson.
